The Duke of York Candelabrum

This spectacular silver-gilt masterpiece was commissioned by HRH Prince Frederick Augustus, Duke of York and Albany (1763-1827), second son of George III, King of the United Kingdom (1738-1820). Depicting Hercules slaying the Hydra, it is one of the most important pieces of silver from the first half of the 19th century.
